First, let me tell you something. Be patient with yourself. Don't rush.
You can do it over as many times as you need to. Do not read
ahead. you'll only confuse yourself. Take you're time, relax, no pressure.
One step at a time. You can holler at me anytime if you need help.
1. Open Paintshop Pro
2. open the file for the alphas you want to use in you're tag
Open only the letters you need.
3. Most of your letters should be the same heighth. Go to image then Image information. There you can get the size of your alpha.
This Screen will pop up (below) to show you the image size. In this case it is 134 X 126 pixels
4. Lets say you are doing the name AMY. In this case the widest letter is the A and it is 134 pixels wide.
Just to be sure you have plenty room, open a new image in PSP three X's that width 134X3 = 402 Pixels. (you have three letters in the name Amy so you need the new image large enough to hold the three letters)
If you were doing a name with 5 letters, you would make you image 134 pixels wide X 5. We will crop off excess or resize when we are through.I made the new image 136 pixels tall because that is the heigth of the alphabet letters.
OK, you have your new image. Now we will put your letters in it to complete your tag.
5. So right click on the title bar of your image, choose
copy. (you can also go to edit at the top to PSP's tool bar and select
copy)
6. Now go up to your new empty canvas you created. Right
click on the title bar of it and choose paste as NEW LAYER
7. Now you are going to repeat the last two steps (5 and 6) for the remainder of your letters. ( Copy a loose letter, paste as a new layer it to your new image next to the first one. Move it with the mover tool until it is where you want it.) When you get all you're layers pasted it will look like this.....
8. Now, we will crop the tag so you don't have all that
wasted space around your tag. Use the crop tool to surround only the white
part
of the alphabet. Then go to the center and double click and your
tag will appear all nice and cropped without all the extra space.
9. Walaaaaa! Now you have your tag. All thats left to do is save it with whatever name you choose to where ever you choose.
You don't have to worry about all those layers. When you save
the tag they will all merge together just like they should be.
